How do I cancel an Interac e-Transfer?

Follow these steps to cancel a sent e-Transfer.

You can cancel most e-Transfers, but there are two cases where cancellation is not possible:

  • Send Money transactions to a member who has Autodeposit enabled while the e-Transfer is pending deposit
  • Request Money transactions that are pending deposit after you have fulfilled the request

Steps to follow

  1. Log in to Online Banking.
  2. From the left menu, select ‘e-Transfers’.
  3. Under Transfer history (default view), select ‘Sent’.
  4. Find the transfer you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel’ on the right side.
  5. A success message will appear, and the transfer details will show as Cancelled.

 

  1. Open the Vancity Mobile App.
  2. Tap the Interac e-Transfer tile on the home screen.
  3. Log in with your password, if prompted.
  4. Under Transfer history (default view), select ‘Sent’.
  5. Find the transfer you want to cancel and tap the red delete icon on the right.
  6. Tap ‘Confirm’ to complete the cancellation.
