How do I add an additional account in online banking? i.e. term deposit or chequing/savings account

Saving for different things? You can add multiple savings accounts online at no extra charge. In addition, you can add or open a new chequing account and many of our most popular term deposits online. For registered accounts, you will need to fill out on online form first before you can open an RRSP or TFSA account.

How to open a savings account

	Step 1: Log into online banking. New to logging in? Learn more.
	Step 2: Click on Account Services in the menu on the left-hand side of the page.
	Step 3: Select the option you are looking for. For a new Savings account, select Savings Accounts.
	Step 4: Select the “Open account” option besides the account that you want to open. Visit vancity.com for more information on account types. For a Business Jumpstart Savings account, select Open account under that heading.
	Step 5: Once you have selected the type of account you want to open, you will be asked to fill out an online form to complete your application. On this page, you must complete the following: Choose a name for your new Account. This will be displayed in online banking. e.g. CEBA loan savings Select an initial deposit amount [can range from $0 to $99,999,999.00] If making a deposit, select the existing account from the dropdown. This account will be debited to fund the new account. Select the Relationship number under which the new account will be opened from the dropdown menu. Select the Intended Use of the new account from the dropdown, e.g. Business-Savings Answer Yes or No to the compliance questions on the page. After inputting all the information, click Continue.
	Step 6: On the next screen, you will be asked to verify the information for the new account and click on Confirm. This new account will now be visible from the Account Summary page and you can start using it right away.

How to open a term deposit

	Step 1: Log into online banking. New to logging in? Learn more.
	Step 2: Click on Account Services in the menu on the left-hand side of the page and select “Open an Account” from the sub-menu items.
	Step 3: For a new term deposit, select Term Deposits.
	Step 4: Select the “Open account” option beside the term deposit that you want to open. Visit vancity.com for more information on account types. For a Cashable 30 Day Lockout, select Open account under that heading.
	Step 5: Once you have selected the type of term deposit you want to open, you will be asked to fill out an online form to complete your application. On this page, you must complete the following: Choose a name for your new Term Deposit. This will be displayed in online banking. e.g. Cashable 30 Day Lockout Select an initial deposit amount [can range from $0 to $99,999,999.00] If making a deposit, select the existing account from the dropdown. This account will be debited to fund the new account. Select the Relationship number under which the new account will be opened from the dropdown menu. Select the Intended Use of the new account from the dropdown, e.g. Home Improvement Answer Yes or No to the compliance questions on the page. After inputting all the information, click Continue.
	Step 6: On the next screen, you will be asked to verify the information for your new term deposit and click on Confirm. This new term deposit will now be visible from the Account Summary page.
