- Verify that Touch ID, Face ID, or a passcode are set up on your device. Please refer to Apple Support for help with these security features.
- Check that you are connected to the internet via data service or WiFi.
- Ensure you are logged in to iCloud with your Apple ID.
- Get your physical Vancity card. All Vancity credit cards and personal debit cards can be used with Apple Pay.
Follow the instructions for each Apple device:
To use Apple Pay, you’ll need to set up your Vancity debit or credit card on your iPhone. You can add your card by using the iPhone camera or by manually entering your card details.
To add your card using your iPhone camera:
- Open the Wallet app on your iPhone
- Select ‘+’ and follow the instructions on your screen. You can add your card using your iPhone camera or by manually entering your card details.
- You may be asked to choose how you want to verify your information – either by text message, email or by calling Vancity.
If you need help adding your debit or credit card for use with Apple Pay, you can call our Member Services Centre at 1.888.826.2489 from 8 am – 8 pm Monday to Saturday or Sunday 10 am – 5:30 pm, call Card Services at 1.800.611.8472 available 24/7, or visit your nearest community branch.
To add your Vancity debit or credit card to your Apple Watch, you’ll first need to add your card to your iPhone. Once you’re ready to add your card to your Apple Watch:
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
- Select ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’
- Select ‘Add Credit or Debit Card’ and choose which card you would like to add to your Apple Watch
- You may be asked to choose how you want to verify your information – either by text message, email or by calling Vancity.
- Your card has now been successfully added. You’re ready to start using Apple Pay on your Apple Watch.
