Apple Pay is a secure and convenient way to pay at the store checkout using your iPhone or Apple Watch instead of your physical credit or debit card. Apple Pay can also be used to pay within apps and online if you have an iPad or Mac computer.
To use Apple Pay in stores, you’ll first need to add your Vancity debit or credit card to your iPhone and/or Apple Watch. When you’re ready to pay at the store checkout, simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch to the card reader, confirm your purchase with Touch ID, Face ID, or your passcode, and you’re done. It uses the same technology as debit and credit cards that allow you to ‘tap and go’.
If you are using Apple Pay for the first time with a new credit card you may be required to sign or enter your PIN with your physical card before your first Apple Pay transactions.
There are a number of benefits to using Apple Pay:
- You can use Apple Pay anywhere you can tap a debit or credit card, so you can choose to leave your wallet at home.
- Your iPhone security features — Touch ID, Face ID, and your passcode — ensure every purchase you make with Apple Pay is secure.
- As an extra measure of security, Apple doesn’t share or store your original card numbers.
- Unlike debit and credit cards that have a maximum cumulative daily tap limit, Vancity has not limited the per-transaction amount for Apple Pay (Personal daily limits and credit limits still apply).
- You can see your 10 most recent Apple Pay transactions right on your iPhone, which makes it a convenient way to track your spending.
You can use any Vancity enviro™ Visa* cards with Apple Pay in stores, online and in apps. Your MEMBER CARD® Debit cards can be used to pay in store.

To use Apple Pay, you will need:
- An eligible Apple device with the latest iOS and Wallet app:
- iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or later
- Apple Watch (paired with iPhone 5 or later)

To add your cards to Apple Pay, you will need:
- Access to your physical Vancity cards
- An internet connection via Data service or WiFi
- To sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID.

Card art should automatically update when you change to a new enviro Visa card. If this does not update, please delete and re-add the card to your Apple-Pay.
