How do I apply for a CEBA loan through the Non-Deferrable Expense Stream?
Applications for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) are only accepted through online business banking.
If you are not currently set up for online business banking or do not have a password, please contact our Member Services Centre.
The steps below apply to members who do not report an amount for payroll, but can provide documentation for a total of $40,000 of non-deferrable expenses in 2020.
Step 1: Login | Login to online business banking through the business tab of the vancity.com website.
If this is the first time you’re logging in, you’ll be prompted to:

Step 2: Navigate to application form in Account Services

Once you have logged in successfully, select Account Services from the left hand navigation.
Then select the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) link |
Step 3: Follow the steps to complete the form.

If you have recently been operating out of a personal account, you will be required to visit the link for the CEBA Pre-Screen tool at https://verify-verifier.ceba-cuec.ca/ to receive a 10 digit number to enter into the form. |

Step 5: Receive Confirmation and submit

Review the confirmation screen to ensure all details are correct.
By selecting ‘I Agree’ you will submit the request for the loan application which Vancity will process on behalf of the government. |
Step 6: Complete application on CEBA Document Upload website | Visit the CEBA Document Upload website at: https://application-demande.ceba-cuec.ca/
Follow the website guide and FAQs to upload documents showing a total of more than $40,000 of eligible non-deferrable expenses. Reference Vancity as the financial institution where you submitted your application and use the same 9-digit CRA business number you used in your application on Vancity’s online business banking. What happens next?
Once Vancity receives your application, it is sent to EDC who is the administrator of the Government of Canada’s eligibility criteria. As Vancity does not adjudicate these loans, we cannot provide information on the status during the evaluation period.
