What’s the Debit Card System Refresh?
On Wednesday, October 11, we refreshed our MEMBER CARD® debit card system to provide all cardholders with a consistent experience at ATMs and point of sale (POS) in stores, and to prepare the card so we can add new features in the future.
Why did Vancity update the debit card system?
We needed to refresh the debit card system in order to:
- Provide members with a consistent experience between ATMs, POS, statements and online banking
- Create the foundation for new payment solutions in the future
- Resolve debit card related issues reported by members
When did the Refresh take place?
Wednesday, October 11, early in the morning, for a few minutes.
How does this affect me?
If your card expires between now and 10/20 (October 2020): Changes made during the Refresh may apply to your account. Please see section below for changes.
If your card expires 11/20 (November 2020) or after: Some of these changes may already apply to your card so you may or may not notice any changes after the Refresh.
What are the changes?
Do you use your MEMBERCARD debit card to pay for purchases at point of sale (POS), or withdraw cash at non-Vancity ATMs?
