Who are Account Administrators and Authorized Users?
This section only applies to enviro ExpenseGoldTM Visa* and enviro Expense Classic* Visa cards for business use. If you have an enviro Classic Visa or enviro Gold™ Visa card, you’ll need to know who Primary Cardholders and Authorized Users are for our personal use cards. |
Account Administrators and Authorized Users of enviro ExpenseGold Visa and enviro Expense Classic Visa cards do not have the same responsibilities and access to their Visa account information.
The Business opens and is the owner of the Visa account. They are identified on the Visa card application form. The Business could be a sole proprietorship, corporation, partnership or non-profit organization.
The Authorized Signatory of a Visa account is the person the Business has designated to instruct Vancity on the Visa account, including adding or changing Authorized Users, and/or the Account Administrator. The Authorized Signatory signs the Visa application on behalf of the business. Authorized Signatories may include an owner, shareholder, partner, director, officer or employee of the Business.
The Account Administrator of a Visa account is the person the Authorized Signatory has designated to be Vancity’s main point of contact with the Business. There must always be an Account Administrator designated on the Visa Account, and there may only be one Account Administrator at any given time.
For Visa accounts that were opened before January 11, 2019, the Account Administrator is the first person who signed the original Visa Card application on behalf of the Business, or another person who the Authorized Signatory has since designated. All Visa Account statements and correspondence will be sent to the attention of the Account Administrator on behalf of the Business. Account Administrators can redeem reward points.
The Authorized User has a credit card with their name on it, issued on the Business’ Visa card account. The cards we issue to Authorized Users are sometimes called ‘supplementary cards’ or ‘additional cards’. The reward points belong to the Business and can only be redeemed by the Authorized Signatory or Account Administrator. Authorized Users will not be able to redeem points, unless they have been designated as an Authorized Redeemer by the Authorized Signatory.
For more details on these different cardholder roles, please review your Vancity Credit Card Agreement (for Business Use).
