I want to send funds to someone, but their financial institution does not have Interac® e-Transfers. Can I still send them an e-Transfer?

If the recipient’s financial institution does not yet offer the Interac® e-Transfer service, transfers can still be accepted into any Canadian personal bank account.

The recipient will need to register (using the link in the notification message) and provide their banking information in order for the funds to be deposited into their bank account. The deposit usually takes 4 – 6 business days to process and an Interac® fee (check with the recipient’s financial institution to confirm) will be deducted from the deposit amount.
