In a nutshell, the Interac e-Transfer service enables you to send money online, securely and quickly to anyone with a Canadian deposit account and an email address or mobile phone.
You are not sending funds by email or text message; only the notification travels over the Internet to advise the recipient that the transfer has been initiated and to provide instructions on how to deposit the funds. Funds are transferred using Online Banking.
